An artist and generalist, Marti taught special education within giftedness, the arts and community with infants, preK-12, to the elderly. An interpretive dance performer, independent choreography May Rain 1979 Toronto; Marti practiced classic western, Kiev ballet; eastern, Bali mask dancer Pak Tempo; modern, Mary Wigman German Expression with Frau Til Thielle, and others; postmodern, Laban, Bhutto with Min Tanaka, and others; and Pochinko technique (clown, and co-founded Danceworks, 1976-ongoing in Toronto. She practiced Tai Chi with Da Liu, New York and Marshall Ho, California, and an experiential practice of Body Mind Centering, BMC, with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen. Marti’s part of the Literary Kitchen Wayward Writers of writer-teacher Ariel Gore and currently has an unpublished memoir 2021 on her Bali transformations, 1980-81, an accompanying audiobook 2022, with short film Sight Unseen 2023.
